Karen Dews (Great Britain), personally trained by Master Cris Janson-Piers, beat Valeria Mercurio of Italy by way of a unanimous points decision in Sheffield England on Sunday 5th July 2009. 
These two ladies stood toe to toe for nearly the whole fight and were relentless, but Dews always looked in front and was more accurate and delivered better combinations.
The event was televised and will be available as a full report in Fighters magazine in August 2009.
The event was held in the Grosvenor House Hotel Sheffield in front of a capacity crowd. 
Dews has been anchoring after the challenge for some time now and dedicated the fight and the win to her Father.
