WGP #46: Lailane Mota is the new WAKO PRO Pan American champion

Brazilian Lailane Mota is the new Pan American WAKO PRO champion up to 52 kg. Added to the WGP #46 schedule, which took place in May in São Paulo, the WAKO Pan American title bout was disputed between the Rio de Janeiro’s native and Chilean Jacqueline Ayala.

Betting on the footwork dynamics and on many low kicks to deal with the opponent's aggressive game plan, Lailane dominated the five rounds. Ayala had some good moments in the fight. But she was gradually overcome by the effective volume of attacks by the opponent.

“I’m very happy with my performance. I controlled the pace all the time and I won.  We did 16 weeks of training. I tried not to take risks and be very strategic. Jacqueline was a dangerous and powerful opponent”, said the Brazilian fighter.

“Now, I will look for the world champion belt in the division under 50kg. The Italian Silvia La Notte holds the title. I respect her a lot. But if I have the opportunity, I will certainly bring this title to Brazil”.
