8000 SPECTATORS IN MILAN

oktagon7

In its 14 years' history, Oktagon - the classic kickboxing  event promoted by Carlo Di Blasi under the asupices of Italian Kickboxing Federation - never reached such a stunning success in Milan last week-end. Palasharp, the sport-hall which hosted the Gala - which was also held in cooperation with  Dutch "It's Show Time" - was packed with 8000 spectators (and may be more) who really did enjoy the performances of the many athletes who fought in the ring.

Of course, the main event was Dutch Andy Souwer, the two times winner of Japanese K-1 Max tournament, who fought against the rising Italian star of Armenian origins Giorgio Petrosian. Well, the match (originally on 3x3' rounds), needed an extra round to determine the winner, but surprisingly victory went to Giorgio Petrosian by points and by unanimous decision!

The second main event was the  female  Wako-Pro  world title bout between Dutch Linda Oolms, at the limit of 50 kgs., which was dominated by the Italian Silvia La Notte, a young girl who last year won the female K1 torunament in Japan.

Soon in this web site an article signed by Ennio Falsoni  (in the picture with the new world champion) about that great Gala. Enjoy some good photos about our event in the Gallery.
