Rebuilding WAKO PRO

2026-01-03

General

We closed 2025 with another record-breaking number of activities on the WAKO PRO circuit, confirming the vitality and sustained growth of the professional division. The new year that is now beginning promises to be even more intense, more demanding and, above all, decisive for the future of the WAKO universe.
The historic decision taken at the last General Assembly, held in Abu Dhabi, to definitively integrate WAKO PRO under the WAKO IF umbrella, marks a profound structural change. This integration inaugurates a new era for the PRO division, with a direct and global impact, imposing the mandatory exclusivity of the WAKO brand on all affiliated countries.
This is a strong strategic choice, which brings opportunities, but also increased responsibilities.
This new cycle coincides with the final stretch of the second term of the current WAKO IF Board of Directors, which ends next year (2027), led by Roy Baker from Ireland.
In terms of the PRO division, the immediate future shows very positive signs.
Negotiations are in advanced stages for the establishment of private investment funds to finance a new, truly professional, sustainable, and global PRO competition league. This project will be announced soon, with due ceremony, and could represent an unprecedented qualitative leap in the history of WAKO PRO.
We are, therefore, facing a key moment.
The integration of the PRO, the renewal of WAKO leadership, and the ambition for new competitive models require political courage, strategic vision, and decision-making capacity.
Rebuild WAKO PRO is not just a slogan: it is an imperative to ensure that WAKO remains relevant, strong, and respected on the international stage, as evidenced by the official recognition from the IOC (International Olympic Committee). By Carlos Ramjanali
